Utilizing our advanced picodroplet microfluidic technology, we provide high-throughput solutions for single-cell isolation and analysis across various fields, including biologics discovery, cell engineering, and synthetic biology. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of chemists in the development of innovative reagents and applications for our microfluidic droplet-based single-cell analysis platforms.
  • Drive business growth by enhancing the application, performance, and cost-effectiveness of our reagent systems.
  • Develop high-value reagents and synthesis techniques that comply with stringent environmental regulations.
  • Oversee all chemistry development activities and collaborate with the Operations team to ensure smooth transitions to manufacturing.
  • Manage the chemistry development laboratory, ensuring adherence to the highest scientific and safety standards.

Main Duties:

  • Create novel, high-performance reagent systems for droplet-based microfluidic single-cell analysis.
  • Establish scalable synthesis routes for reagent manufacturing and support their transition to production.
  • Define robust material specifications and develop assessment techniques to ensure quality during manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with the biology team to design innovative solutions for assay development.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the chemistry team, fostering growth and alignment with business objectives.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes affecting our operations.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • PhD in Chemistry or a related field with a focus on droplet microfluidics.
  • Proven expertise in droplet chemistry and the development of stable, biocompatible emulsions.
  • Experience in chemical synthesis, purification, and characterization techniques.
  • Strong background in assay development, particularly fluorescence-based assays.
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC, MS, NMR, and spectroscopy.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead reagent design and development projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.

Desirable:

  • Experience in biological assay kit design.
  • Understanding of biopharmaceutical discovery processes.
  • Knowledge of cell biology and related assay techniques.
