We are seeking a motivated and skilled officer to enhance our environmental efforts. This essential role supports our sustainability objectives and contributes to the council's commitment to ecological stewardship.

Role Overview

In this crucial role, you will assist in developing the council's new climate change strategy and spearhead climate-related projects and programs in collaboration with local communities and stakeholders. Your efforts will focus on achieving net-zero emissions and enhancing climate resilience within West Oxfordshire. Additionally, you will collaborate with various internal teams to integrate climate considerations into their operations and drive carbon reduction initiatives aimed at achieving organizational carbon neutrality by 2030.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an individual with a background in climate science, environmental studies, sustainability, or a related discipline, who possesses experience in climate action. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong initiative, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and advanced skills in organizational and project management, as well as stakeholder engagement. A genuine passion for tackling climate change is essential.
