Our innovative projects include the UK's first hyper-local area energy plan and the exploration of nature-based solutions for carbon capture. We are looking for a motivated and skilled officer to support our environmental programs and contribute to the council's sustainability objectives.

Role Overview

In this crucial role, you will assist in developing the council's new climate change strategy and spearhead climate-related projects and programs in collaboration with local communities and stakeholders. Your efforts will be essential in achieving net-zero emissions and enhancing climate resilience in West Oxfordshire. Additionally, you will collaborate with various internal teams to integrate climate considerations into their operations and advance carbon reduction initiatives aimed at achieving organizational carbon neutrality by 2030.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking an individual with a background in climate science, environmental studies, sustainability, or a related discipline, who possesses experience in climate action. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong initiative, advanced problem-solving abilities, and excellent organizational and project management skills. A genuine passion for combating climate change is essential.
