Senior Physiotherapy Support Specialist in Geriatric Care

We are excited to present this unique opportunity to join our dedicated team at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. We seek a proactive, confident, and enthusiastic individual to take on the role of Senior Physiotherapy Support Specialist, focusing on the care of elderly patients.
In this position, you will collaborate closely with patients, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team, executing a variety of responsibilities to ensure the effective operation of the Therapies service.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the efficient, effective, and safe management of patients under treatment as assigned by the Physiotherapist, while independently supporting routine patients as deemed appropriate by qualified Therapy staff. Maintain professional and legal accountability for all aspects of your work, ensuring high standards of clinical practice for the patients in your care. Adhere to Trust and departmental protocols, policies, guidelines, and pathways where applicable. Manage patients safely and efficiently, accurately reporting results and issues identified back to the supervising Physiotherapist. Recognize clinical risks within your caseload and seek guidance from the Physiotherapist to ensure effective identification and management of these risks. Deliver physiotherapy treatment programs under direction, either individually or in group settings. Possess knowledge of various manual handling and mobility techniques relevant to patient management, including the safe use of transfer equipment. Assist in effective discharge planning within the team, coordinating with other members of the multidisciplinary team as necessary. Contribute to the development of junior Physiotherapy Support Specialists.About Our Organization
