Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Healthcare Support Worker or Clinical Care Associate to join our Palliative Care Team. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact in the lives of Children and Young People facing life-limiting conditions.

In this position, you will engage in diverse healthcare environments, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to evaluate, plan, and implement clinical care and educational support tailored to the needs of our patients and their families.

This role is pivotal in enhancing the quality of care provided to children with complex health requirements, ensuring that their needs are met with compassion and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the healthcare team and Registered Nurses to assess, plan, and deliver high-quality clinical care and education based on patient requirements. Operate independently under the guidance of registered nursing staff, adhering to the nursing care framework and processes. Utilize your expertise to make informed, evidence-based decisions while addressing challenges in patient care. Maintain accountability for your actions and recognize the boundaries of your competencies. Supervise and mentor new team members and students during their training periods, ensuring they receive the necessary support. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and service development efforts. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are required for this role.

Essential Qualifications

Completion of a Nursing Associate Foundation Degree or an Assistant Practitioner qualification. Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and training.

Desired Experience

Previous experience in pediatric care settings. Supervisory experience is advantageous.

Skills and Attributes

Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient in IT and familiar with Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of health and safety practices, infection control, and safeguarding principles. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
