About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to join our Tax Engine Business Team at Amazon. As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for developing and evolving our indirect tax technology, processes, services, features, and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the product vision and associated features for the "Regulatory & Environmental Compliance" product portfolio in Tax Engine.
  • Create consensus with internal and external teams, including software engineering, design, business, compliance, legal, public policy, and tax.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the business and tax/legal guidance, champion the needs of customers, and dive deep on technology and operational implications of the products you own.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to gather business and tax requirements, convert those requirements into product specifications, and collaborate with software and business teams.
A Day in the Life

You will be responsible for:

  • Meeting with tax, business, and software teams to understand their objectives and identify the associated indirect tax calculation and collection implications.
  • Developing product functional and user experience requirements, feature specifications, and standard operating procedures.
  • Actively participating in projects throughout their lifecycle to ensure that the requirements are met.
  • Understanding customers (consumers, sellers, taxing authorities, and Amazon internal teams) to ensure that our product development consistently meets the objectives and experience expectations of our customers.
  • Providing general indirect tax calculation and collection subject matter expertise to internal and external partners.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition.
  • Experience with end-to-end product delivery.
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product.
  • Experience as a product manager or owner.
  • Experience owning technology products.
  • Experience with product cycles of 6+ months.
  • Experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development, or technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience influencing senior leadership through data-driven insights.
  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of indirect taxes, including US sales taxes, EU value-added taxes, and other global transaction taxes, regulatory, and environmental compliance impacting e-commerce industry.
