Barnardo's Caern Disability Services provides a range of high-quality services for young people with learning disabilities and/or autism. Our three unique projects have been supporting these individuals for over forty years.

About Pentland Way Residential Service

Our Pentland Way service offers residential support to up to three young people in a nurturing environment. We work closely with the young people, their families, and carers to achieve positive outcomes outlined in their Individual Support Plans.

Your Role as a Residential Support Worker

We are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our team at Pentland Way. You will play an active role in supporting the young people, ensuring their well-being and helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to young people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
  • Implement individualized care plans and support strategies.
  • Create a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
  • Facilitate daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and leisure activities.
  • Communicate effectively with young people, families, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working directly with children and young people in a similar setting is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of learning disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality care and support.
