Job Title: Trainee Ships Agent

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trainee Ships Agent. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to our clients in the maritime industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of services.
  • Action operational requests from vessels, vessel owners, and charterers, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Source and procure equipment and supplies, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Input, retrieve, and report data using computerized systems, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Stay up-to-date with risk assessments and method statements, ensuring compliance with legislation and company rules.
  • Collaborate with safety advisors to investigate incidents and implement safety initiatives.
  • Perform driving duties, including transporting ships personnel, belongings, and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient transportation.
Requirements:
  • Full clean driving license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing workloads and priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and planning skills, with attention to detail and a solutions-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and ownership, while contributing to the wider team.
  • Computer literate with well-developed IT skills across the Microsoft suite, with experience in MS AX an advantage.
