Position Overview:
An exciting opportunity exists for a Community Staff Nurse within the Central Ayr Locality.
Key Responsibilities:
As a qualified registered nurse, you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for diverse client groups in community settings. Previous experience in community nursing is preferred.
You will manage your caseload in the absence of the Charge Nurse, which includes supervising and deploying staff effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently as a lone worker in various community environments. A commitment to personal development and a willingness to pursue relevant training is expected.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Professional nursing qualification
- Degree-level education in a relevant field, such as health studies
- Current experience in District Nursing
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
Working Hours:
This position requires a commitment of 22.3 hours per week.
Driving Requirements:
A valid UK driving license and car ownership are essential for this role.

Note:
From April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will decrease from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without a reduction in earnings. NHS Ayrshire and Arran is committed to implementing this change while ensuring patient safety remains a priority.
