About This Opportunity

Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Research Fellow to join our esteemed Paediatric Dermatology Department. This unique position offers an exceptional opportunity for a physician with a strong foundation in pediatrics and a passion for dermatology, particularly in the field of Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).

Your Role

  • Collaborate closely with leading clinicians, Dr. Martinez and Dr. Petrof, alongside research fellows and EB Clinical Nurse Specialists to provide comprehensive care for children with skin fragility disorders and other dermatological conditions.
  • Contribute to the advancement of clinical research by actively participating in novel therapy trials within our state-of-the-art Clinical Research Facilities.
  • Engage in academic pursuits, including case presentations, manuscript writing, and active involvement in the dynamic subspecialty of pediatric dermatology.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a Primary Medical Qualification (MBBS or equivalent) and full GMC registration with a Licence to Practice, or an IELTS Certificate with an overall score of 7.0 (minimum score of 7 in each domain), or Occupational English Test (medicine version) with a minimum score of 'B's' in each domain.
  • Hold MRCPCH or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrate at least two years of experience in Pediatrics and Dermatology, including ST2 level paediatrics.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of clinical governance principles.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in teaching and presenting medical information.
  • Participation in audit activities within a healthcare setting.
  • Clinical experience in related pediatric specialties.
  • Published research in peer-reviewed journals.
