Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our team at the Transformation Unit. As a key member of our Psychological and Mental Health Services department, you will be responsible for providing psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention to children, young people, and families living with a range of dermatological disorders.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide expert psychological input to the dermatology team, including assessment, formulation, and intervention.
  • Work closely with the Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) team to provide psychological support to young people and families with this lifelong condition.
  • Contribute to the flexible delivery of psychology services across the Specialist Health Conditions Stream, responding to new developments and organizational changes.
  • Supervise junior colleagues, including offering regular training placements for local clinical psychology doctorate courses.
Requirements
  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, and lifespan developmental psychology.
  • Eligibility for Chartered status and membership of the Division of Clinical Psychology.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professionals Council as Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Formal training in supervision of other psychologists.
  • Well-developed skills in communication, technical and clinically sensitive information to clients, their carers, and other professionals.
  • Experience of supervising junior Psychologists, including Assistant Psychologists, Trainee Clinical Psychologists, undergraduate Psychology Placement Students, and/or other professionals.
  • Experience and expertise in working with children who have life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, including experience of bereavement work.
  • Experience and expertise of working with children and/or adults with physical health conditions.
