Job Overview:

This role is integral to the Southwark Young People Service, focusing on providing essential accommodation support and flexible assistance to young individuals aged 16 to 25 who are facing homelessness challenges. The Salvation Army is committed to delivering this support service, alongside certain housing management functions, with oversight from regulatory bodies.

Primary Duties:

As the Programme Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring successful outcomes for our at-risk youth. You will hold operational accountability for the delivery of services within designated areas. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that the programme aligns with overall service objectives by meeting both internal and contractual Key Performance Indicators. Collaboration with the Service Manager and Support Staff is essential to guarantee that services provided are of the highest quality and cost-efficient. Additionally, you will prioritize client engagement and emphasize their choice and control in all aspects of service delivery.

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Extensive managerial experience in a supported housing context.
  • A commitment to achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable clients.
  • Proven ability to meet both internal and contractual Key Performance Indicators.
  • A focus on high-quality and cost-effective service delivery.
  • A qualification equivalent to NVQ4 or a willingness to pursue relevant professional development.
  • Strong entrepreneurial and management capabilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • An understanding of the unique challenges faced by young people in homeless situations.
