We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Communications & Marketing Manager to join our team at Youth Music. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our communications strategy, ensuring that our brand and reputation are consistently represented across all channels.
Key Responsibilities- Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with our organisational goals and objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including our trustees, CEO, and external partners.
- Oversee the implementation of our digital marketing strategy, ensuring that our online presence is engaging and effective.
- Collaborate with our PR agency to ensure continued growth in media presence and reputation.
- Ensure consistency in key messages, audiences, visual identity, house style, tone, and language across all communications channels.
- Copywriting and Editing
- Develop and edit key documents and text, ensuring that they are engaging, informative, and aligned with our brand and messaging.
- Media and PR
- Lead on the relationship with our external PR agency, ensuring that they are delivering on proposed plans and KPIs.
- Coordinate with colleagues to source appropriate projects, case studies, and spokespeople for media opportunities.
- Identify potential PR risks and support the Senior Leadership Team/Executive Group on crisis management.
- Management and Communication
- Manage the communications team, ensuring that they are equipped to deliver high-quality communications outputs.
- Oversee relationships with external communications suppliers, supporting managers with day-to-day responsibility for agency management.
- Ensure internal colleagues are aware of external trends and issues affecting our work.
- Coordinate communications needs from across the organisation.
- Lead the communications team in monitoring, evaluating, and improving performance of all communications activities, and sharing successes/learnings internally.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Youth Music policies, including data protection, safeguarding, and equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Minimum 2 years management experience leading a communications team.
- Informing strategic decision making at Trustee and Executive level.
- Building and strengthening the brand and reputation of a leading organisation.
- Experience across content, marketing, digital, campaigns, PR.
- Applying strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage relationships with senior colleagues, agencies, direct reports, and colleagues across the organisation.
- Excellent project management to deliver and implement strategies, campaigns, and initiatives.
- Strong attention to detail, including ability to adapt copy for different audiences and ensure adherence to brand guidelines.
- Experience in a charity, agency, youth, or music organisation.
- Knowledge of best practice in communications and digital innovation.
- External environment and current affairs knowledge and networks.
- Working with insights data.
