Position Overview:

This role is integral to the Southwark Young People Service, focusing on providing essential accommodation-based and floating support to young individuals aged 16 to 25 who are facing homelessness. The Salvation Army is dedicated to delivering these support services, ensuring compliance with relevant inspection standards.

Primary Duties:

The Programme Manager plays a pivotal role in fostering positive outcomes for our at-risk youth. You will hold operational accountability for service delivery in designated areas, ensuring that the programme aligns with both internal and external Key Performance Indicators. Collaboration with the Service Manager and Support Staff is essential to guarantee that our services are of the highest quality and are cost-efficient. Your leadership will be vital in maximizing client engagement and promoting autonomy in all aspects of service provision.

Qualifications and Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Significant managerial experience within a supported housing context.
  • A commitment to achieving favorable outcomes for vulnerable clients.
  • Proven ability to meet both internal and contractual performance metrics.
  • Strong entrepreneurial and management capabilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • A solid understanding of the challenges faced by young people in homeless situations.

Additionally, candidates should hold a qualification equivalent to NVQ4 in a relevant field or demonstrate a willingness to pursue such qualifications. The core values of The Salvation Army will be fundamental to all programme initiatives.
