Established in 2019, the Youth Futures Foundation operates as an independent, non-profit entity, funded through dormant assets, aimed at fostering systemic improvements by:

  • Providing grants to organizations that offer employment assistance to youth, enabling us to generate compelling evidence through high-quality impact evaluation methodologies.
  • Promoting evidence-based transformations in policy and collaborating with employers and practitioners to enhance practices. We facilitate connections and empower those involved in commissioning and delivering youth employment services.

Role Summary
The Senior Economic Analyst / Evidence and Evaluation Manager will be a key member of our dedicated Impact and Evidence directorate, playing a pivotal role within the Youth Futures Foundation.

Your primary responsibility will be to contribute to our goal of establishing the most extensive repository of credible evidence and evaluations regarding effective strategies for guiding young individuals into quality employment.

In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with the Heads of Evaluation, the Deputy Director, and the Director to ensure that all investments made by Youth Futures are structured to yield robust evidence of effective practices.

Key Responsibilities
Specifically, you will:

  • Assist the Heads of Evaluation and the Deputy Director in designing new impact evaluations, taking the lead on their commissioning and oversight.
  • Focus on our What Works Programme 2, which involves designing and funding impact evaluations, including Randomized Controlled Trials and Quasi-Experimental designs for youth employment initiatives.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of our 'evaluation architecture', improving our data infrastructure and access to administrative datasets, alongside developing methodological guidance and standards.

This will ensure that, as the leading center for youth employment, our evidence remains credible and actionable.

You will also support various aspects of the Evidence and Evaluation team's commissioning efforts, which may include formulating policies and processes that facilitate effective evaluation methodology design, in close collaboration with Youth Futures' Programmes and Grants directorate.

Additionally, you will engage with our Policy and Communications and Employer Engagement directorates to guarantee that all evaluation and evidence outputs are of high quality, providing clear, practical, and impactful recommendations for both practice and policy.

Team Environment
We are a diverse, multi-disciplinary team and encourage applications from individuals with a strong interest and experience in impact evaluation, whether through commissioning or delivery.
