About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Economic Research Analyst to join our Macroeconomic Modelling and Scenarios team at Oxford Economics.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing bespoke scenarios for strategic planning, stress testing, and asset allocation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain complex macroeconomic models to forecast economic trends and scenarios.
  • Support financial sector clients with bespoke asset return modelling and scenario analysis.
  • Lead research on the macroeconomic impacts of climate change and other global economic challenges.
  • Work with our Global Economic Model (GEM) to produce regulatory stress tests and economic scenarios.
  • Write up scenarios or economic research for subscription services or consultancy projects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of work experience in a related field, such as economics or finance.
  • Strong education in Economics to at least an undergraduate level.
  • Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of current economic and policy challenges facing the global economy.
  • Previous experience in using applied macroeconomic models for forecasting and/or scenario analysis.
  • Knowledge of statistical modelling software, such as Python, R, and/or EViews.
