About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Acoustic Scientist to join our team at Gardline, a leading provider of marine services. As an Acoustic Scientist, you will play a critical role in providing acoustic modelling support and contributing to the development of marine acoustic equipment and mitigation functions.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing acoustic modelling support using Python, MATLAB, and other software packages.
  • Managing technical projects, including providing in-depth support during sailing operations.
  • Assisting with the development of new acoustic equipment and technologies.
  • Designing and implementing survey packages and infrastructure for new and existing vessels or work platforms.
  • Providing technical training and support for acoustic equipment users.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and company QA and HSSE procedures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BEng/BSc degree in a relevant discipline, such as Acoustics, Engineering, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role or as a senior operator in acoustics, geophysical engineering, or data processing.
  • Excellent knowledge of acoustics hardware and software, including Python, MATLAB, and other relevant packages.
  • Strong technical skills, including experience with multiple large-scale equipment mobilisations and client interfacing.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
