About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Acoustic Scientist to join our team at the Gardline Group. As an Acoustic Scientist, you will play a critical role in providing acoustic modelling support and contributing to the development of marine acoustic equipment and mitigation functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide acoustic modelling support using Python, MATLAB, and other relevant software packages.
  • Manage assigned projects, including providing in-depth support during sailing operations.
  • Assist with providing technical training for acoustic equipment users.
  • Advise departmental managers on equipment and department technical capabilities.
  • Support the continuous development of current marine acoustic equipment.
  • Design equipment survey packages and infrastructure for new and existing vessels or work platforms.
  • Provide local and remote troubleshooting and technical support for in-field operations.
  • Plan mobilisations, create deck plans, lifting plans, and attend project meetings as needed.
  • Advise on the capabilities of PAMS regarding country-specific legislation on marine acoustic mitigation measures.
  • Support R&D to introduce new products into the operational environment.
  • Ensure adherence to and promotion of company QA and HSSE procedures.

Requirements

  • BEng/BSc in a relevant discipline (Acoustics, Engineering Electronics & Mechanical, or similar).
  • Acoustics related degree or academic course (desirable).
  • Technical knowledge of acoustics hardware from industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in the field as a senior operator in some capacity.
  • Use of acoustics software packages - Python, MATLAB, or similar.
  • Experience with multiple large-scale equipment mobilisations.
  • Client interfacing experience as a technical authority.
  • Driving license.
