About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Acoustic Scientist to join our team at Gardline, a leading provider of marine services. As an Acoustic Scientist, you will play a critical role in providing acoustic modelling support and contributing to the development of marine acoustic equipment and mitigation functions.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing acoustic modelling support using Python and other software packages
  • Managing technical projects, including providing support during sailing operations
  • Assisting with technical training for acoustic equipment users
  • Advising departmental managers on equipment and department technical capabilities
  • Supporting the development of current marine acoustic equipment
  • Designing equipment survey packages and infrastructure for new and existing vessels or work platforms
  • Providing local and remote troubleshooting and technical support for in-field operations
  • Planning mobilisations, creating deck plans, lifting plans, and attending project meetings
  • Advising on the capabilities of PAMS regarding country-specific legislation on marine acoustic mitigation measures
  • Supporting R&D to introduce new products into the operational environment

As an Acoustic Scientist, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and contribute to the development of new technologies and techniques. You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that is passionate about delivering high-quality results.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BEng/BSc degree in a relevant discipline, such as Acoustics, Engineering Electronics & Mechanical, or similar
  • Technical knowledge of acoustics hardware and software
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role or as a senior operator in acoustics, geophysical engineering, or data processing
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar software packages
  • Experience with multiple large-scale equipment mobilisations
  • Client interfacing experience as a technical authority
  • A driving license
