Job Overview

At Transport Focus, we represent the interests of transport users across Britain. Our mission is to ensure that their needs and experiences are prioritized in future policy decisions and investments in the transport infrastructure. We actively engage with the public to gather insights on their experiences with Great Britain's railways and the major road networks, including buses and trams. By collaborating with transport providers, we aim to address issues effectively and, when necessary, publish comprehensive improvement plans. Our analytical approach, informed by industry data and insights, places the transport user's perspective at the forefront of decision-making processes in governmental bodies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, commissioning, and execution of Transport Focus's policy initiatives.
  • Draft and produce policy documents and reports for public dissemination.
  • Develop preliminary policy positions on emerging transport issues, addressing both national and regional concerns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to pinpoint research and policy development opportunities.
  • Provide expert guidance on transport policies, ensuring they are grounded in the latest evidence and analysis.
  • Foster and enhance relationships with stakeholders to elevate awareness and understanding of policy positions, refining our messaging on complex topics.
  • Oversee projects and programs across various transport modes and themes.
  • Prioritize tasks to meet objectives outlined in the Business Plan while remaining responsive to external changes.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings and presentations, working closely with Communications and Public Affairs teams.
  • Represent Transport Focus at forums, panels, and industry events.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate transport policy into broader organizational projects.

  • Experience in managing and nurturing stakeholder relationships.
