About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team at Transport Focus as an Academic Engagement Manager.

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the voice of Britain's transport user is at the centre of our policy decisions and investment in the transport network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with academic institutions and researchers to inform our policy decisions and ensure that the latest research and data are incorporated into our work.
  • Work closely with our policy team to analyze and interpret complex research, data, and statistics to inform our policy recommendations.
  • Produce high-quality written outputs, including reports, briefings, and other materials, to communicate our findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to contribute to projects and workstreams outside of your immediate team.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects and programmes of work, prioritizing tasks and managing competing deadlines.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in a policy or research environment, with a strong understanding of the transport sector and its challenges.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and research.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality written outputs and present complex information to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a willingness to contribute to projects and workstreams outside of your immediate team.
