Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Policy Specialist to join our team at Vox Network Consultants. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing transport and public realm policies, including the Council's Long Term Transport Strategy and Local Implementation Plan.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and agree strategic transport policies and initiatives.
  2. Identify and assess policies that support the implementation of Harrow's Long Term Transport Strategy.
  3. Work with colleagues to ensure timely delivery of Section 106 funding from developers.
  4. Monitor and report on policy progress and programme budgets.
  5. Lead on the review of Council Transport policy.
  6. Promote sustainable and active travel.
  7. Present projects and policies at meetings and events.
  8. Attend site visits and provide support to other Council departments.
  9. Maintain knowledge of local and national planning and transport policies.
  10. Prepare reports and represent the Transportation service at Committees and other meetings.

Requirements

  1. Comprehensive understanding of transport planning schemes, including road safety, traffic management, and cycling provision.
  2. Knowledge of transport planning issues nationally, regionally, and locally.
  3. Experience in transport planning with policy development experience in the public or private sectors.
  4. Understanding of the political content and environment of Local Government.
  5. Ability to work with stakeholders and communicate effectively.
  6. Able to work as part of a team and take the initiative in solving work-related problems.

Qualifications

Educated to advanced level or equivalent, or has the equivalent relevant work experience.
