About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Kinetech Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the technical implementation and maintenance of services and infrastructure, encompassing both on-premise and Azure cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Build Infrastructure: Design, build, and manage on-premise servers (Windows), virtualisation (Hyper-V), and cloud infrastructure (Azure) to align with business needs.
  • Ensure Scalability and Reliability: Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of infrastructure, including monitoring and maintaining performance and availability.
  • Implement Security Measures: Implement and maintain security measures to protect the infrastructure environment, including regular maintenance such as patching and updates.
  • Lead Infrastructure Projects: Lead infrastructure projects from initiation to completion, including migration of end-of-life servers to the cloud, selecting and implementing a new DR solution, and enhancing security posture.
  • Report on Infrastructure Performance: Report on infrastructure performance, incidents, and improvements.
About You
  • Wide Infrastructure Experience: Wide experience in infrastructure engineering, with demonstrable experience in physical servers (Windows), virtualisation (Hyper-V), and cloud (Azure).
  • Proficient in AD, DNS, DHCP: Proficient in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Failover Manager.
  • Experience with Backup Maintenance: Demonstrable experience with implementation of and backup maintenance (Veeam).
  • On-Prem Data Centre Experience: Experience with on-prem data centre maintenance and management.
  • Azure Management Experience: Demonstrable Azure management experience (VMs, NSG rules, Storage accounts) to contribute to the gradual migration of environments to the cloud.
  • DR Implementation and Testing: Experience with DR implementation and regular testing.
  • Technical Documentation: Ability to create and maintain technical documentation with a good attention to detail.
  • Hardware and Software Patching: Experience with hardware and software patching/firmware upgrades.
  • Networking Experience: Some networking experience desirable in configuring and maintaining network devices such as Firewalls (Palo Alto/Cisco ASA), Switches, WiFi, and Routers.
  • Initiative and Teamwork: Ability to work end-to-end on projects, with initiative and willingness to learn, but also able to work as part of a small team.
