Job Overview

The Infrastructure Engineer plays a crucial role in the technical deployment and upkeep of the organization's services and infrastructure, which includes both on-premises and cloud-based systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take a central role in the design, construction, and management of on-premise servers (Windows), virtualization (Hyper-V), and cloud infrastructure (Azure), working with both physical and virtual hardware.
  • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams to fulfill business needs.
  • Monitor and maintain the performance and availability of our infrastructure, including routine maintenance tasks such as patching and updates.
  • Implement and uphold security protocols to safeguard our infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Lead infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
  • Maintain and update network and infrastructure documentation for team reference and auditing purposes.
  • Provide reports on infrastructure performance, incidents, and enhancements.

The team operates on a shift pattern to cover core business hours, and the individual in this role must be capable of both tactical thinking and delivering a robust IT service.

Candidate Profile

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven knowledge and experience with infrastructure, including virtualization (Hyper-V), physical servers (Windows), and storage solutions.
  • Proficient in Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Failover Manager.
  • Demonstrated experience in backup implementation and maintenance (Veeam).
  • Experience in managing and maintaining on-premises data centers.
  • Strong Azure management skills (VMs, NSG rules, storage accounts) to effectively contribute to the gradual migration of environments to the cloud.
  • Extensive hands-on experience configuring and maintaining network devices such as firewalls (Palo Alto/Cisco ASA), switches, WiFi, and routers.
  • Experience in disaster recovery implementation and regular testing.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking principles and technologies such as VLAN, CIDR, LLDP, VRRP, and SNMP.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience in hardware and software patching/firmware upgrades.
  • Asset management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting with staff at all levels and explaining requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently while recognizing the importance of being part of a cohesive team.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage workload effectively.
  • Ownership of project work, from scoping solutions to implementation and maintenance.

Desirable Skills

  • Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSA, AZ-700, or AZ-900.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Familiarity with Power BI.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
