Experienced Credit Controller Wanted for 8-Month Maternity Cover

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our team on an 8-month fixed term contract, providing maternity cover for our well-established client in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
Key Responsibilities- Process sales invoices daily, submitting as required, using customer portals, management systems, and email.
- Reconcile customer accounts and send statements.
- Ensure accounts are maintained within agreed terms and credit limits.
- Telephone clients to chase overdue invoices, mainly corporate and SME clients.
- Report old outstanding debt to the Credit Team Leader and communicate potential debtors' issues.
- Indicate to the Group Credit Manager if legal action is required to resolve issues.
- Handle customer queries, assist with discrepancies, and maintain company confidentiality.
- Liaise with different departments to resolve issues.
- Process and manage high volumes of data, using Excel skills to gather information.
- Keep records of customer accounts, listing payment terms, contact details, and invoicing instructions.
- Maintain debtors' actual and expected income, printing and creating reports for management.
- Maintain customer information databases, updating when required.
- Work closely with the accounts team, processing payments, and helping with month-end processing.
- Perform ad hoc duties and cover for other staff members.
- Recent experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent negotiation skills, professional telephone manner, and customer service skills.
- Good communication and assertiveness skills, with an organized and methodical approach.
- Significant numerical knowledge and advanced computer literacy, particularly in MS Excel and Word.
- Ability to work independently or within a team, with an innovative mindset to identify areas for improvement.
- Reliability, approachability, and high accuracy, with the capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.
