Witham Prospect School is seeking to recruit dedicated Residential Support Workers for various weekly working hours who are passionate, committed, compassionate, and highly driven to assist children and young individuals with Severe Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Complex Care in reaching their utmost potential.

Key Responsibilities

Day Residential Support Workers - Average of 44.5 hours per week

Engage in a two-week full-time rolling schedule with 12 hour shifts during the hours of (8.00am – 8.00pm). This schedule includes one full day dedicated to training every three weeks.

Day Residential Support Workers - Average of 38.5 hours per week

Participate in a three-week rolling schedule, combining early shifts from (7am – 2.30pm, 7am - 3.30pm) and late shifts from (2.00pm – 10.00pm). This schedule also includes one full day for training every three weeks.

Flexible Day Residential Support Worker - Available working hours include:

  • 18.5 hours per week over 2 shifts across an average of 2 days
  • 20.6 hours per week over an average of 2.5 days
  • 26.5 hours per week over 3 shifts across an average of 3 days
  • 34.5 hours per week over 4 shifts across an average of 4 days
  • 42.5 hours per week over 5 shifts across an average of 5 days

Work between the hours of (7.00am – 3.00pm) for early shifts and (2.00pm – 10.00pm) for late shifts. Your working hours schedule will also include one full day for training every three weeks.

Compensation for Support Workers:

£11.46 per hour based on qualifications, with £15.00 for Monday to Friday shifts and £19.00 for any overtime worked outside of contracted hours.

Role Requirements

Responsibilities in the Care Role Include:

  • Supporting children and young individuals to meet their needs in the most suitable manner by adhering to personalized care plans and positive behavior support strategies developed by our expert therapy team.
  • Encouraging children and young individuals' choices, independence, dignity, privacy, and the fulfillment of their rights.
  • Maintaining a stable, nurturing, and caring environment prioritizing the health, safety, and welfare of our children and young individuals, which will involve domestic responsibilities.
  • Collaborating with the staff team across all settings to ensure the safeguarding of the children and young individuals in our care.
  • Actively promoting learning during all programs and activities in residential, leisure, and educational contexts.
  • Effectively assisting children/young individuals and staff in managing challenging behaviors as they arise, utilizing the approved methods outlined in their Positive Behavior Support plans and training.
