Witham Prospect School is seeking to hire dedicated Residential Support Workers for various weekly schedules. We are looking for individuals who are passionate, compassionate, and highly motivated to assist children and young adults with Severe Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Complex Care in reaching their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Day Residential Support Workers - Average of 44.5 hours per week

Work on a two-week full-time rolling schedule with 12 hour shifts between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM. This role includes one full training day every three weeks.

Day Residential Support Workers - Average of 38.5 hours per week

Engage in a three-week rolling schedule that includes early shifts from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and late shifts from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This position also allows for one full training day every three weeks.

Variable Day Residential Support Worker - Available working hours:

  • 18.5 hours per week across 2 shifts over an average of 2 days
  • 20.6 hours per week over an average of 2.5 days
  • 26.5 hours per week on 3 shifts over an average of 3 days
  • 34.5 hours per week on 4 shifts over an average of 4 days
  • 42.5 hours per week on 5 shifts over an average of 5 days

Shifts will be scheduled between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM for early shifts and 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM for late shifts, with one full training day every three weeks.

Compensation for Support Workers:

The pay rate is £11.46 per hour based on qualifications, with overtime rates of £15.00 for Monday to Friday shifts and £19.00 for weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities in the Care Role Include:

  • Supporting children and young adults to meet their individual needs by adhering to personalized care plans and positive behavior support strategies established by our expert therapy team.
  • Encouraging choice, independence, dignity, privacy, and the fulfillment of rights for children and young adults.
  • Maintaining a stable, nurturing environment that prioritizes the health, safety, and welfare of the children and young adults, which may involve domestic tasks.
  • Collaborating with the staff team across all settings to ensure the safeguarding of the children and young adults in our care.
  • Actively promoting learning during all programs and activities in residential, leisure, and educational contexts.
  • Effectively assisting children and young adults and staff in managing challenging behaviors as they arise, utilizing approved methods outlined in their Positive Behavior Support plans.
