About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Residential Care Support Worker at Witham Prospect School. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with severe learning disabilities, autism, and complex care needs to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting Individual Care Plans: Collaborate with our highly qualified therapist team to develop and implement individual care plans that meet the unique needs of each child or young person.
  • Promoting Independence and Choice: Encourage and support children and young people to make informed decisions about their lives, promoting their independence, dignity, and fulfillment of their rights.
  • Managing Challenging Behaviour: Effectively support children and young people, as well as staff, to manage challenging behaviour using approved approaches defined within their Positive Behaviour Support plan and Sherwood training.
Requirements
  • Qualifications and Training: Willingness to complete the NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare if not already held.
  • Safeguarding Practice: Understanding of safeguarding practice and willingness to undertake additional training in safeguarding.
  • Personal Qualities: Enthusiasm, confidence, and resilience, with the ability to follow positive behaviour support strategies when faced with behaviours of concern.
  • Professional Boundaries: Ability to act in a professional manner at all times, ensuring professional boundaries.
  • Caring and Compassionate: Caring and compassionate towards people in need of care and support.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent effective communication and collaborative skills.
