About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Residential Care Support Worker at Witham Prospect School. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with Severe Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Complex Care needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the children and young people to meet their needs by following individual care plans and positive behaviour support plans set by our highly qualified therapist team.
  • Promote children and young people's choice, independence, dignity, privacy, and fulfilment of other rights.
  • Effectively support the children/young people and staff to manage challenging behaviour as and when it arises, using approved approaches defined within their Positive Behaviour Support plan and Sherwood training.
Requirements
  • Willingness to complete the NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare if not already held.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding practice and willingness to undertake additional training in Safeguarding.
  • Must be enthusiastic, confident, and resilient with the ability to follow positive behaviour support strategies when faced with behaviours of concern.
  • Able to act in a professional manner at all times, ensuring professional boundaries.
  • Caring and compassionate towards people in need of care and support.
  • Excellent effective communication and collaborative skills.
