Position Overview: Are you a certified educator with a background in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and autism? Do you have a passion for supporting individuals with learning challenges? This role may be ideal for you, especially if you are an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant seeking to advance your career.

Key Responsibilities: In this position, you will be responsible for teaching essential skills in English and Mathematics, while also integrating employability and life skills into your lessons. You will have dedicated time each week for planning and administrative tasks, working Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM.

The program you will be involved in combines educational instruction with practical work experience, aimed at preparing learners for future employment opportunities.

Your weekly schedule will consist of:

  • 3 days dedicated to teaching
  • 2 days allocated for administrative duties and lesson preparation, as well as collaboration with various stakeholders, including employers, families, and job coaches who assist the young individuals during their placements.

Qualifications: Ideally, you should possess either a Level 3 (PTLLS) or a Level 5 (DTLLS, PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) teaching qualification. If you do not hold these qualifications, a minimum of 2 years of experience teaching SEN learners in a group environment is required.

Compensation: The salary for candidates with a Level 3 teaching qualification is £28,653, while those with a Level 5 qualification will receive £31,886. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to pursue their Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications if they do not already possess them.
