Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEN Support Specialist to join our team at Greenford High School. As a key member of our Learning Support Department, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs to overcome their barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work closely with the SENCO and other members of the Learning Support Department to develop and implement targeted interventions to support students with special educational needs.
  2. Provide individual and group support to students to help them overcome obstacles to their progress and achieve their academic and personal goals.
  3. Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure that students receive a comprehensive and inclusive education.
  4. Monitor and track student progress, identifying areas where additional support is needed and developing strategies to address these needs.
  5. Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure that they are informed and involved in their child's education.
  6. Contribute to the development and implementation of the school's SEN policy and procedures.
  7. Participate in staff training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with special educational needs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of the needs of students with special educational needs and the ability to develop and implement effective support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Experience of working in a school setting, preferably in a role supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Knowledge of current developments in SEN and the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
  • A commitment to the school's values and mission, and a desire to contribute to the development of a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
