Job Overview

The Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the Patient Pathway Coordinator role. This position is responsible for providing dedicated administrative and clerical support to the clinical team, ensuring the highest quality patient care.

Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative and clerical issues relating to patients' pathway of care, tracking and supporting them from referral to treatment &/or discharge. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative support to the clinical team, ensuring efficient and effective patient care.
  • Maintaining accurate records and databases, and ensuring safe filing systems.
  • Supporting the provision of integrated pathways that enable the best use of resources and ensure that patients are treated in the right place, by the right person, at the right time.
  • Ensuring high levels of patient care and clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer-focused and knowledgeable point of contact.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Providing administrative support to the clinical team, including maintaining accurate records and databases, and ensuring safe filing systems.
  • Supporting the provision of integrated pathways that enable the best use of resources and ensure that patients are treated in the right place, by the right person, at the right time.
  • Ensuring high levels of patient care and clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer-focused and knowledgeable point of contact.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Good general education with GCSE or equivalent in English at grade C or above.
  • Knowledge of a full range of IT/Patient administration systems.
  • Knowledge of patient administration work in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience of maintaining accurate records and databases, and ensuring safe filing systems.
Knowledge and Skills

The post holder will require:

  • Demonstrates interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience dealing with customer complaints and customer care.
