Hexagon Care Services stands as the largest privately owned provider of residential childcare in the UK, operating over 50 Children's Homes, 5 Crisis Intervention services, and 14 educational institutions across England.

We are looking to recruit a Residential Support Worker for our children's home. This role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals to join a well-established and successful team, gaining insights from experienced professionals who are dedicated to providing exceptional support to children in care.

Each day will present unique challenges as you assist young individuals in reaching their fullest potential. Your responsibilities will vary widely during shifts, including tasks such as meal preparation, maintaining cleanliness, engaging in recreational activities, accompanying young people to appointments, managing challenging behaviors, or simply enjoying leisure time with them.

Our goal is to foster a positive and nurturing home environment where young people feel secure, valued, and heard. You will receive comprehensive training from our award-winning learning and development team and ongoing support from senior staff members, including psychologists and therapy professionals, to establish appropriate boundaries, effectively manage behaviors, and guide the young people towards promising futures.

While prior experience in a residential setting for children is beneficial, it is not mandatory. Please note that this position involves shift work and requires you to perform sleep ins at the home at the conclusion of your shift before transitioning to another staff team the following day. The rotating schedule includes evenings, weekends, and public holidays shared among the staff.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be expected to possess the following qualities:

A genuine desire and commitment to safeguard, motivate, and inspire the young individuals in your care. The ability to lead, demonstrate, and share best practices with fellow practitioners in your home, while collaborating closely with psychologists and our specialized therapeutic services team. The personal attributes and temperament to manage challenging behaviors effectively and professionally. Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, evenings, and sleep-in duties.

Benefits of working as a Residential Support Worker with Hexagon Care:

Competitive pay scale based on experience, qualifications, and performance. Attractive pension scheme. Access to specialized CPD certified training and accredited qualifications at no cost. Priority access to other Residential Support Worker and senior roles within the organization before they are publicly advertised. Additional annual leave for maintaining 100% attendance. Availability of a free, confidential 24/7 employee assistance program.

Please be aware that Hexagon Care Services does not hold a sponsorship license and is unable to support candidates requiring sponsorship. All hiring managers at Hexagon Care Services are trained by safer recruitment consortium accredited trainers, and all positions involving regulated activity with children will undergo thorough safer recruitment and onboarding checks prior to commencement.
