Early Years Support Worker

About the SchoolThe school's mission is to provide a supportive and inclusive environment for children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Our goal is to empower students to develop positive behaviors, constructive attitudes, and essential life skills.
We cater to a large number of students with additional learning or neurodevelopmental challenges, such as ADHD and Autism. Our curriculum is designed to be engaging, relevant, and stimulating, providing a solid foundation for future success.
Our focus is on academic achievement, personal development, and community engagement, reflecting our belief in empowering students to become confident, responsible, and compassionate individuals ready to make a positive impact in the world.
Early Years Practitioner Requirements- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or a related field.
- 6 months of experience working within an Early Years or Nursery setting within the last 2 years.
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, principles, and practice.
- Experience or understanding of record keeping and tracking progress of children.
- Knowledge and experience of behaviors linked to additional needs.
- A Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
- To work with the class teacher to facilitate the learning of early years children within a special educational needs school.
- To assist in the delivery of play-based learning activities, which contribute to the overall learning and development of children.
- Support children on a 1:1 and small group basis.
- Establish rapport and respectful, trusting relationships and communicate effectively with children and their families and carers.
- Provide academic, emotional, and physical support to pupils where appropriate, including the delivery of personal care where necessary.
- Hold a Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
