Role Overview

As an Access Control Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert technical assistance to clients regarding the CEM AC2000 Systems suite of access control solutions and their integrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering technical support via phone, remote access, and on-site visits when necessary.
  • Documenting and maintaining comprehensive records of support inquiries.
  • Managing and prioritizing active support cases efficiently.
  • Guiding clients through troubleshooting steps to set up systems or resolve technical issues.
  • Diagnosing and addressing hardware or software faults within CEM systems.
  • Installing and configuring CEM AC2000 software applications and associated hardware.
  • Creating technical documentation including troubleshooting guides, user manuals, and product release notes.
  • Conducting technical training sessions on hardware and software applications.

Qualifications

Essential

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong technical problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting expertise.
  • Familiarity with Linux systems, including shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of SQL databases.
  • Experience in networking and troubleshooting server/client environments.
  • Proficiency with virtual platforms and guest operating system installations.
  • Experience in installing and supporting Windows-based applications.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team member.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Desirable

  • Experience in a customer-facing technical support role.
  • Background in supporting custom software applications.
  • Familiarity with the electronic security sector, including access control, CCTV, DVR, intercoms, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Proficiency in additional European languages.
