The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) plays a crucial role in establishing the framework for local governance throughout England. As an independent entity, we are directly accountable to Parliament.

Our primary function involves conducting electoral assessments by evaluating the electoral boundaries of local authorities in England and proposing any necessary modifications to Parliament.

To fulfill our statutory obligations, we depend on a team of talented and dedicated professionals, ranging from those directly engaged in reviews to those supporting our finance, IT, and HR operations.

This pivotal position within our leadership team will oversee a top-tier corporate services department, ensuring the acquisition and management of the resources required by the Commission while guaranteeing that our governance and systems facilitate the effective operation of the organization.

We aspire to find a genuine leader for our corporate services division who can ensure that we possess the resources, governance, and systems necessary for effective delivery of our responsibilities.

While we have a robust framework established, there exists an opportunity for the new Head to identify and implement enhancements and efficiencies to elevate our performance.

The formulation of a new corporate strategy will allow you to influence the strategic trajectory of the organization and explore how data and technology can be leveraged to improve our operations.

You will provide visible leadership and innovation for a dedicated and skilled workforce, with the capability to foster strong relationships with our Board and stakeholders.

Ideally, you will be a qualified accounting professional; however, our primary requirement is for someone with extensive experience across various corporate services functions who can lead a diverse team and manage competing demands effectively.
