About the Position

We are excited to announce a vacancy for a Bid Proposal Specialist. The successful candidate will assist the Bid and Proposal Team in securing new contracts and maintaining existing agreements with local authorities and NHS adult social care services, aligning with the objectives of various internal operational teams. This encompasses inpatient and rehabilitation services, care facilities, supported living, and day services, along with occasional assistance to other subsidiary sectors.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to articulate a clear vision and collaborate effectively with all departments within the CareTech Group to ensure that proposals are completed to a high standard in a project-managed manner.

This role is primarily home-based but requires occasional travel to:

  • Our head office
  • Various office/service locations as needed
  • Market engagement events hosted by councils and CCG/ICB

Main Responsibilities:

  • This position is part of the Business Development Team, which aims to create opportunities for sustainable growth through localized and group business strategies, considering the social, economic, and environmental landscape.
  • Collaborate with Operational Leads and the Performance Director, along with the Bid Manager and Tender Manager, to enhance the Tender and Bid Strategy as a vital component of the overall Business Development Plan.

Key Duties:

  • Gain insights into local operational models and national strategies, including regulatory frameworks.
  • Communicate the company's Vision and Values by providing well-researched written content for proposals, drawing from internal resources and external research.
  • Coordinate the written responses to identified Tender opportunities, focusing on Method Statement submissions.
  • Oversee the completion of individual tender applications, including:
  • Maintaining awareness of upcoming contracts managed by the Bid Manager.
  • Support the identification and assessment of opportunities, reviewing new tender documentation and preparing for discussions with Business teams.
  • Compile and revise internal contributions to produce a cohesive and structured final proposal.
  • Proofread and edit method statements related to service delivery.
  • Provide administrative support to maintain the existing library of resources.
  • Manage external portals for Adult Services, ensuring timely updates and access for relevant staff.
  • Assist the Bid Manager with tasks necessary for the timely submission of proposals.

Experience, Skills, and Personal Attributes:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 5 (C) or above, including at least grade 6 (B) in English.
  • A Levels or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong networking abilities, effectively engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in crafting successful written content or demonstrated strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to convey our vision and service delivery in an engaging and accessible manner.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to gathering information from diverse sources.
  • Effective time management skills, capable of meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible and committed to working hours and annual leave in coordination with the Bid Manager.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with online portals/applications is advantageous.
  • (Desirable) Knowledge of residential/supported living and CQC regulations.
