Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronics Engineer to join our team at Renishaw. As a key member of our electronics group, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative electronic solutions for our cutting-edge metrology products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers and product managers to define product specifications and deliver designs that meet those specifications.
  • Develop VHDL firmware and take ownership of the delivery of electronic designs that meet targets for product performance, quality, cost, and timescale.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, allocating time appropriately to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Contribute to a multi-disciplinary team, working closely with software and mechanical design engineers, production, and purchasing teams.

Requirements

  • Hold a degree in electronics or equivalent.
  • Have experience in analogue and digital electronics design, including designing for electromagnetic compatibility.
  • Be proficient in relevant ECAD schematic capture, PCB layout tools, and circuit simulation tools.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of VHDL for FPGAs.
  • Familiarity with embedded microprocessors and embedded C.
  • EMC testing experience.
  • Practical electronic circuit prototyping skills.
