Job Description

Company Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Company Accountant to join our team at Intellectual Business Services UK Ltd. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the purchasing process, working collaboratively with other staff to ensure efficient and effective management of company resources.
  • Manage accounts payable duties, including entering invoices, checking statements, dealing with supplier queries, organizing payment runs, and maintaining accurate aged creditor reports.
  • Manage accounts receivable duties, including raising applications for payment, customer invoices, chasing debt, debt query resolution, and maintaining accurate aged debtor reports.
  • Perform weekly bank reconciliations to ensure all bank reconciliations are up to date and accurate.
  • Maintain accurate supporting balance sheet schedules for fixed assets, prepayments, and accruals.
  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts to the directors and shareholders.
  • Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts bi-monthly or monthly, depending on the requirements of the business.
  • Prepare and submit monthly CIS returns, payroll journals, and payments for monthly PAYE and CIS returns to HMRC.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and annual P11D returns.
  • Support external accountants in preparing and finalizing year-end accounts.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of AP, AR, credit control, management accounts, and VAT returns.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting legislation.
  • Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize work effectively.
  • CIMA or ACCA part qualified is essential, with a firm plan to finalize studies.
