About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team in a residential setting. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children aged 5-18 with emotional trauma, learning disabilities, autism, mental health, and challenging behavior.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Care Plans: Collaborate with other professionals to create and review individual care plans, ensuring each young person's needs are met and their goals are achieved.
  • Establish Effective Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with young people, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
  • Ensure a Safe Environment: Conduct risk assessments and maintain a safe and secure living environment.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete paperwork, including incident forms, medication administration records, logbooks, and handover sheets, as required by the individual home.
  • Organize Activities: Plan and participate in recreational and educational activities that promote social skills, personal growth, and community involvement.
  • Emotional Support: Provide guidance and support to young people in managing their emotions and behaviors.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a care setting with children.
  • DBS and Right to Work: A valid DBS on the Update Service and the right to work in the UK.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Qualifications: A relevant qualification in childcare or social care (e.g., NVQ Level 3).
