Job Title: Residential Support Worker

Job Summary:

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children aged 5-18 with emotional trauma, learning disabilities, autism, mental health, and challenging behavior.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Individual Care Plans: Collaborate with other professionals to create and review personalized care plans that meet the unique needs and goals of each young person.
  • Establish Effective Communication: Maintain open and respectful communication with young people, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
  • Risk Assessment and Safety: Conduct thorough risk assessments to ensure a safe and secure living environment for all residents.
  • Administrative Tasks: Accurately complete paperwork, including incident reports, medication administration records, logbooks, and handover sheets, as required by the individual home.
  • Recreational and Educational Activities: Organize and participate in activities that promote social skills, personal growth, and community involvement.
  • Emotional Support: Provide guidance and support to young people in managing their emotions and behaviors.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a care setting with children.
  • DBS and Right to Work: Hold a valid DBS on the Update Service and have the right to work in the UK.
  • Communication Skills: Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Qualifications: Hold a relevant qualification in childcare or social care (e.g., NVQ Level 3).
