Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Rehabilitation Physiotherapist to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts. As a key member of our cardiac rehabilitation team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communication and Patient Care
    • To effectively communicate complex information to patients and carers, ensuring they understand their condition and rehabilitation options.
    • To establish and maintain rapport with patients and carers, addressing any concerns or anxieties they may have.
    • To facilitate effective communication with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless patient care.
  • Assessment and Intervention
    • To conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with a range of cardiac conditions, using analytical skills to inform treatment plans.
    • To develop and implement individualized management plans, utilizing evidence-based interventions to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Planning and Organisation
    • To manage a large caseload, prioritizing clinical tasks and delegating responsibilities as needed.
    • To assist in the mentoring and training of junior staff and students, promoting professional development and excellence in practice.
  • Physical Skills and Patient Handling
    • To lead group or one-to-one exercise sessions, promoting physical activity and rehabilitation.
    • To maintain up-to-date training and knowledge in moving and handling, basic life support, and immediate life support skills.
  • Quality and Service Development
    • To contribute to the identification, maintenance, and monitoring of quality standards for clinical practice within the service.
    • To share knowledge and best practices with colleagues, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Financial and Resource Management
    • To be aware of budgetary constraints and contribute to the delivery of a cost-effective service.
    • To assist in the collection of data and statistics for departmental audit purposes.
  • Human Resources and Development
    • To train and supervise/mentor junior staff and students, promoting professional development and excellence in practice.
    • To contribute to the training and development of colleagues, enhancing service provision and quality.
  • Information Resources and Research
    • To be responsible for collating data and recording clinical information, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
    • To actively search out and incorporate evidence into practice, contributing to the measurement and evaluation of the service.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualification in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience in cardiac rehabilitation or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice and quality improvement principles.
