Job Details

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work as a Cardiac Rehabilitation Physiotherapist within the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a safe and effective cardiac rehabilitation program for patients with a variety of cardiac conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Communication and Patient Care
  • To effectively communicate complex information to patients and carers, ensuring they understand their condition and how to maximize their rehabilitation outcome.
  • To establish and maintain rapport with patients and carers, overcoming barriers to effective communication.
  • To maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation, adhering to legal and service requirements.
Analytical Tasks
  • To undertake comprehensive assessments of patients with complex clinical conditions, utilizing analytical skills.
  • To formulate individual management plans, utilizing a range of intervention skills and options.
  • To analyze and interpret clinical and social information, making recommendations for other professional intervention if required.
Planning and Organisational Skills
  • To organize and manage a large caseload, prioritizing clinical tasks and delegating responsibilities to other staff as needed.
  • To assist in mentoring and training of support staff and students.
  • To coordinate and produce reports as requested for the area of work.
Physical Skills
  • To lead group or one-to-one exercise sessions, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
  • To maintain up-to-date training and knowledge of moving and handling, basic life support skills, and immediate life support skills.
Responsibility for Patient Care
  • To be professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of work, including patient management.
  • To ensure high standards of clinical care and assist staff to do similarly.
  • To identify patient goals and develop/monitor treatment plans.
Policy and Service Development Implementation
  • To assist in identifying, maintaining, and monitoring quality standards for clinical practice within the service.
  • To use appropriate networks to share information, research, and good practice examples.
Responsibilities for Financial and Physical Resources
  • To be aware of budgetary constraints and assist the line manager in delivering a cost-effective service.
  • To be involved in collecting data and statistics for departmental audit purposes.
Responsibilities for Human Resources
  • To train and supervise/mentor other staff and students.
  • To contribute to the training and development of others as required to improve service provision.
  • To maintain own continuous professional development (CPD).
Responsibilities for Information Resources
  • To be responsible for collating data as per clinical area.
  • To record clinical information in relation to patients and clients, ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Responsibilities for Research and Development
  • To actively search out and incorporate evidence into practice.
  • To contribute to the measurement and evaluation of the service.
