Role Overview

We are seeking a Marine Technical Operator responsible for the upkeep and repair of all machinery and electrical systems aboard the vessel, while also fulfilling the duties of a GP Rating.

Key Responsibilities:

Familiarize yourself with the vessel's construction, machinery, and operational characteristics. Conduct necessary checks prior to departure, ensuring the vessel is fully prepared for the voyage, considering stability, stress, trim, and watertight integrity, and confirming sufficient fuel reserves. Report any issues to the Master and Technical Superintendent. Perform regular inspections of machinery and machinery spaces to maintain awareness of their condition and operational capabilities. Coordinate all transfers of fuel, lubricants, and fresh water. Ensure all planned maintenance and both routine and emergency repairs are executed, collaborating with the Maintenance Superintendent to minimize disruption and maximize reliability. Implement measures to prevent environmental pollution. Maintain accurate engine room records as required by the company and relevant authorities. Provide and receive thorough handovers when joining or leaving a vessel. Stay informed about company and shipboard regulations to perform duties efficiently and safely. Be knowledgeable about all safety equipment onboard and participate in safety drills and training to uphold operational standards. Perform any additional tasks as reasonably requested by the Master or the company. Carry out GP Rating responsibilities.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

AEC 1 (with the capability to obtain AEC 2) Nav Watch Rating Certificate (must hold or be able to obtain) ENG1 Certification Elementary First Aid Certification Basic Fire Fighting Training Sea Survival Course Completion RYA Powerboat Level 2 Certification

Desirable:

Understanding of the technical operations of designated equipment Basic knowledge of operational processes Proficient command of English (both written and spoken) Awareness of applicable Occupational Health & Safety regulations Basic ICT skills, including Office and fleet management systems Formal qualification in a relevant engineering discipline

Additional Requirements:

Subject to UK security clearance (proof of UK residency required) Valid driving license Current passport
