About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Engineer to join our team at Boskalis. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all machinery and electrical equipment onboard our vessels.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure the vessel is prepared for sea passage, including conducting thorough checks on stability, stress, trim, and watertight integrity.
  • Report any deficiencies to the Master and Technical Superintendent.
  • Conduct regular inspections of machinery and machinery spaces to ensure optimal condition and operational capability.
  • Arrange fuel, lubricant, and fresh water transfers.
  • Plan and execute maintenance and repair work to minimize disruption to the vessel's program.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in safety drills and training to maintain the highest safety standards.
  • Perform duties of GP Rating.
Requirements
  • AEC 1 certification (and ability to obtain AEC 2)
  • Nav Watch rating Certificate (hold or be able to obtain)
  • ENG1 certification
  • Elementary First Aid
  • Basic Fire Fighting
  • Sea Survival Course
  • RYA Powerboat Level 2
Desirable Qualifications
  • Knowledge of technical operations of designated equipment
  • Basic knowledge of operational processes
  • Good command of English (written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety rules
  • Basic skills in ICT Office and fleet management systems
  • Formal qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline
