About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Engineer to join our team at Boskalis. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all machinery and electrical equipment onboard our vessels.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure the vessel is in all respects prepared for the voyage, taking into account factors such as stability, stress, trim, and watertight integrity.
  • Conduct regular inspections of machinery and machinery spaces to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Arrange all transfers of fuel, lubricants, and fresh water.
  • Ensure all planned maintenance and repair work is carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Implement measures to prevent pollution of the environment.
  • Keep accurate records of engine room activities and ensure compliance with Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in safety drills and training to maintain the highest safety standards.
  • Perform duties of GP Rating as required.
Requirements
  • AEC 1 certification (and ability to obtain AEC 2)
  • Nav Watch rating Certificate (hold or be able to obtain)
  • ENG1 certification
  • Elementary First Aid training
  • Basic Fire Fighting training
  • Sea Survival Course completion
  • RYA Powerboat Level 2 certification
Desirable Qualifications
  • Knowledge of technical operations of designated equipment
  • Basic understanding of operational processes
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety rules
  • Basic skills in ICT Office and fleet management systems
  • Formal qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline
