Job Summary

As a Marine Engineer with Finning, you will be responsible for responding to customer service requests for Marine repair and maintenance. You will work within Finning's industry-leading field service department, providing on-site diagnostic and repair capabilities for Caterpillar products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute maintenance, overhaul, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and commissioning of Caterpillar and MaK engines, packages, and systems installed in vessels.
  • Provide an estimate of arrival time at customer's location in response to service request.
  • Identify parts required to carry out the repair and requisition any parts.
  • Undertake repair and service work on the machine to the agreed work plan.
  • Inspect and test completed machine to ensure unit is operating to expected performance levels.

Requirements
  • Formally apprentice trained (NVQ Level 3) and served engineer.
  • Knowledge in the use of field-based diagnosis tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge and experience of in-depth repair of marine engines.
  • Medium & high-speed marine engines, packages, and systems.
  • Electronic, mechanical, and electrical engineering principles.
