Quality Assurance Engineer in Manufacturing

Battery NEXUS is seeking a skilled professional to oversee and enhance quality management systems and manufacturing processes for advanced sensor technologies within the Aerospace, Automotive, or Robotics sectors. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in manufacturing environments related to electronic components, with a focus on the establishment and oversight of quality systems such as ISO9001:2015, and preferably AS9100.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Management:
- Oversee the current ISO9001:2015 quality management framework, ensuring compliance through regular internal audits.
- Lead the adoption of new quality standards as necessary, including AS9100.
- Conduct supplier onboarding and manage quality audits while fostering supplier development.
- Manufacturing Assistance:
- Offer technical expertise and support to the manufacturing team throughout the development and production phases of sensor systems.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical challenges encountered during manufacturing.
- Support the creation of innovative manufacturing processes utilizing automated technologies such as die bonding, pick and place, and wire bonding.
- Ensure that manufacturing processes are designed to achieve consistent levels of repeatability.
- Oversee the inspection of incoming materials and finished products to maintain quality standards.
- Client Support:
- Provide technical assistance to clients regarding the functionality and performance of sensor systems.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design reports and operational descriptions.
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
- Promote the application of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement efforts.
- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives.
- Identify and propose enhancements for existing products and processes proactively.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
- Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in the manufacturing of electronic or mechatronic components, particularly within the Automotive or Aerospace industries, focusing on sensor systems.
- Experience in the implementation of new quality management systems.
- Proven track record in leading lean manufacturing initiatives and process enhancements.
- Experience in generating technical reports, prototype specifications, and related documentation.
- Familiarity with die bonding and wire bonding processes is advantageous but not mandatory.

- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
