**You must be able to demonstrate management and improvement of quality systems and manufacturing improvement and scale-up of cutting-edge sensor systems in the Aerospace, Automotive or Robotics industries. You should have experience working in either an automotive or aerospace manufacturing environment for electronics components, with the implementation and management of quality systems including ISO9001:2001 and ideally ISO/TS16949 and/or AS9100**

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Systems:
    • Manage the existing ISO9001:2015 quality management system ensuring ongoing compliance including internal audits
    • Lead the implementation of new standards as required e.g. AS9100
    • Carry out supplier onboarding, quality audits management and development of existing suppliers
  • Manufacturing Support:
    • Provide technical guidance and support to the manufacturing team during the development and production of sensor systems
    • Support resolution of technical issues that arise during the manufacturing process
    • Support development of new manufacturing processes using automated equipment such as die bonding, pick and place and wire bonding
    • Ensure manufacturing processes are developed that can deliver required levels of repeatability
    • Manage the inspection of incoming materials and finished products
  • Customer Support:
    • Provide technical support to customers regarding the operation and performance of the sensor system
    • Ensure appropriate technical documentation, design reports, operating descriptions are maintained
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Champion implementation of lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement activities
    • Lead problem solving and root cause analysis of issues
    • Proactively identify areas for improvement in existing products and processes

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in electronic or mechatronic component manufacturing, ideally in a relevant industry such as Automotive or Aerospace and of sensor systems
    • Implementation of new quality management systems
    • Implementing and leading lean manufacturing implementation and process development
    • Experience in producing technical reports, prototype specifications, and other technical documentation
    • Ideally but not essential experience of die bonding and wire bond
  • Personal attributes:
    • Results-driven and self-motivated demonstrating excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross functional team
