About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at the Kent Autistic Trust. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with autism, mental health issues, and learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized support to individuals with autism, mental health issues, and learning disabilities, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, their families, and other stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care, addressing complex needs and behaviors.
  • Administer medication, assist with personal care and hygiene, and provide emotional support as needed.
  • Participate in sleep-in shifts and receive an allowance, topped up to National Living Wage (NLW) where applicable.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans, ensuring they are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with best practices in autism care and support.
Requirements
  • Manual driving license (essential)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on communication and collaboration.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism, mental health issues, and learning disabilities (desirable)
  • Knowledge of autism, mental health, and learning disability support principles and practices (desirable)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
